As the coronavirus crisis continues to unfold, tapping — a powerful holistic healing technique — is helping hundreds of thousands of people worldwide to relieve stress and reduce anxiety.

If you’re not familiar with tapping, here’s a simple explanation from the Tapping Solution website:

Tapping therapy is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Tapping with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensations, helps to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body’s balance of energy.

About a year ago, Nick Ortner and his siblings, Jessica and Alex, founders of The Tapping Solution, introduced a Tapping Solution app for IOS and Android. Suddenly, tapping became easier to do, with super-short sessions you can fit into a busy day. No need for sitting awkwardly in a yoga posture and trying to quiet your mind for what feels like an eternity!

I’ve been using it since the beginning and continue to be amazed at what a difference just five or 10 minutes of tapping can make to my mood and outlook. (Sure, it looks weird, but it works!)

The premium version of the app costs $15.49 USD a month, but there are many free tapping meditations, including several created especially for teachers and military people, for sleep support, and more.

Once awareness of this global crisis began to grow, the Ortners began putting together a free collection of tapping sessions especially for coping with coronavirus stress.

When we feel fear, stress, anxiety, and other negative emotions, our immune systems are under stress as well. In this time of uncertainty with the coronavirus, Tapping is a great tool to help us shift out of the stress response, support our immune systems to function well, and our minds to be more at ease.

The sessions range from about five to 18 minutes, and there are even tapping meditations for children: for aged 5 and under, ages 6 to 8, ages 9 to 12, and 13 to 17.

Not only that, the Ortners are offering six months free access to the full library for all healthcare workers and first responders worldwide.
